Addictions, are definately something good to do a reasearch paper on. There are a million different addictions out there and there is a lot of information about them as well.

I have a condition called Hereditary Hemochromatosis..it is an iron overload disorder that is acutally one of the most common blood disorders there are..yet a lot of people don't know they have it...the American Hemochromatosis Society's web site is full of useful info that could be of importance to more people than you may realize...it may even help save a life...worth looking in to...

Last year I did two research papers - one on immigration(which was kind of fun, but if you do it about illegal immigration problems) and one on slavery(I did mine on American slavery, but maybe Latin American slavery would be fun as well)

My friend really enjoyed doing one on the Industrial Revolution... so those are some basic ideas. Hope they help, and good luck on your paper.
