you know what... I have some kind of bugs flying around my laundry room. They look like them red ants, but they are flying. Not sure if that's what you've got, but I've been researching on the internet to see what they are...and I can't find it anywhere. Good luck, I got them last year too, and they went away after like a week.

Your problem could be what is commonly called a Japanese beetle, these beetles are sometimes mistaken for lightning bugs due to the fact that have bronze backs and that there body structure is similar.

In Puerto Rico they are called "Cucubanos". They seem to light at night. Tiny bug. Try to trap it with a Flye trap. They are harmless but I worry if it get into my ears when sleeping.
Or you might use Flying Insect Kiiler. I rather use the trap.
