Phone him. If you are not able to contact him write him a letter with what you would say to him if you saw him. Read a book, watch a film, see a friend - the days will go quicker if you dont contantly think about the time passing.

Drink some coffee and then have a hot cup of coffee before you go, a good bottle of scotch works well, you might also want some benydril.

scream in a pillow, take a nap, listen to music, watch tv, go for a long run or walk. i ride my horse, listen to Garth Brooks or read a book, thats what cools me down.
