It's not weird. There are far weirder jobs people want to do. Just today my friend was telling me about an ex-flatmate who used to do taxidermy as a *hobbie*. One of my best friends wanted to be in the police but his eyesight wasn't good enough. His and my other best friend is also thinking it over and he's 18. It's just an exciting thought to most men. (I think it's the power, haha.)

In the end, it's the kid's choice, and they'll know whether they made the right decision. Police work doesn't have to be dangerous, and I'm sure they'd take safety measures for minors anyway. :)

(Oh, and "Isn't this weird?*" is how you spell it.)

There's nothing wrong with a career in law enforcement. There may be a million people out there who hate police, but im sure those million of people will call the police if they get robbed, if someone they know gets hurt..they are heroes at times...i have several family members in law enforcement, and i hear all the stories, the hatred, the kindness, the hours..if you ask me, if i had 2 kids, one boy and one girl, id want my son to go into law enforcement, and id want my daughter to go into nursing. just my opinion.

I have a friend who has recently gone through the entire training process just to find out that the police aren't recruiting at the moment...
if he wants to try again he'll have to go through the whole training process again, maybe just to find out the same thing..

so to answer your question I wouldn't recommend anyone to go through it now unless they are guranteed a position at the end of it.

But I am kinda glad he isn't doing it as it is a dangerous job... but i wouldn't stop anyone who wanted to do it as long as they knew the dangers.

I would not knock the police, they do a very difficult job.The ones that do knock them, are the ones that are first on the phone to them if anything happens

It's not weird at all. It's thanks to the police that the UK's troubles aren't even worse than they are at present.
