All else fails, a good vinegar soak and bath followed by a regular wash ought to do it. "People have forgotten the power of the almighty Vinegar!" (As my grammy always shouted as she hand washed clothes)

Distilled white vinegar, only a half cup for a large load of wash. Then rinse a second time. The vinegar separates the threads and breaks down the oil in perspiration which most likely is causing the nasty smell in your work out clothes.

I add 1/2 cup Baking Soda to the rinse cycle when I wash mine and my hubby's workout clothes. It works every time.
