Anyone notice that the Saints seem to have more success as a team when they have the Louisiana patch somewhere on their uniform? The team was a decent to good team in the late 80's early 90's which also happened to be the only time in team history they've worn the patch. This year they wear the patch again and are in the NFC championship game.
Not saying it's anything more than a weird coincidence but just one I wonder if anyone else noticed?
In fact I would not be suprised if their team winning percentage was over 60 or 70% if you only consider years they have worn the patch

It always helps to be on the patch. Legend has it that the Superdome is built on an old graveyard and the spirits in it are angry at the city for building the dome on top of them. Supposedly that's why the Saints do so poorly so often. Each season, a voodoo priestess comes in and says a blessing over the field to ward off bad mojo. Maybe it actually worked this year (or Katrina blew away the angry ghosts).

I don't know very much about Saints history so therefore, I did not notice.
I think the patch is important. What is important is what the patch represents. The Patch represents pride in Louisiana. Pride in New Orleans. With Katrina gone, the residents left and many never to return. And there is a fear for people living elsewhere to move to New Orleans. The TEAM said we believe in you New Orleans, they rebuilt the Superdome. They wore the patch, unifying the entire state behind them. Those who live in Louisiana want to see Louisiana recover and see the entire state unify to Support our Saints.

Kenrayf...i liked the way you put it...that is what the legend says...I am from New Orleans, and we do believe Katrina washed the souls away...all we know is our Saints are going to the NFC championship this year for the first ever in team history...what a year after the storm!!!
