for instance, if you lend a friend of yours some money and he doesn´t repay it, the next time he comes for another loan you provide him with the money again trusting that he will pay it back.

Being smart doesn't make you perfect, so from time to time you will do and say dumb things, but when you realise that you have made an error and you take steps to correct it.... that's what differentiates you from a dumb person...
You lending your friend money ... a second time after him not repaying you the first time, was really an act of kindness, nothing to feel stupid about, it just goes to show that you are a very forgiving person. I'm sure it did cross your mind that it is possible that he would not repay you, but you gave him the benefit of the doubt anyway... because as you said, he is your friend. Look on the bright side, at least now you know that you will not make a similar 'mistake' in the future.

Because we're human. If you're like me, you probably just want people to like you. Maybe you just truly believe that he will repay you. Maybe money isn't a factor when your friendship is concerned. When it comes to cash, I've learned never to loan more than I could give away, because I don't have the guts to ask for the money back in the first place. I'm too "nice." If he's a good friend of yours, don't let money get in the way. Refuse him another loan if you want to, and just tell him you don't want that to hurt your friendship. While it's good to have friends, it's also no fun being a doormat for people. Been there.

this is a dumb thing to do as you have just set up the loan now never repay business out side your door, be prepared for a lot of business. How ever you can now go over to his house and demand repayment of the entire amount plus interest, and if he can not repay have him sign a paper saying that he owes you plus reasonable amount of interest, and you can take it to court

that's called trust, not dumb. you want to believe that this person you have chosen as a friend is honorable and will do the right thing. it's when you loan him money again for a third time, without the loan having been repaid. then it falls into the dumb category.

however, we all learn by our mistakes. so, i am assuming this is a lesson you had to learn in your lifetime.

Emotions are stronger than I Q
People who lend money like that may get a feeling of superiority, as in" I can afford it and you can't", or "You need me nyahh, nyahh" or "Aren't I the generous to a fault person, even though you said I'd never amount to anything?"
You only see the action of lending, the person doing the lending may have a cauldron of emotions just below the surface.

when you lend your friend money you think you can trust him but you can't. you can't help that you do dumb things. everyone makes mistakes in their life and some of us do the same mistakes over and over again. most of the time when its a friend you can't say no to a friend in need.

forget the "we are all human crap" all humans are different and that has no Bering on your situation. you trust people too much and the only way to stop doing that is to start saying no when the past shows they won't be honest. if you don't people will learn they can take advantage of you and you don't want doormat stamped on your forehead.
