someone insulted you .. in Public..?

Depends on if they are just joking around or not. If I know them and they say it in a joking around manner, then I joke back with them. If it's a stranger and they insulted me, I would just walk away.

Less is more in public. If I knew the person I would wait until we were in private to give them a piece of my mind. If it were a stranger I would never see again, I would probably say something like, "f*ck off" and walk away. Don't like the idea of a public scene.

First, you just look at the person for a few seconds of silence. Then you say, " Someone in this situation simply must behave with some grace and manners. It is painfully obvious that this someone will have to be me." Stare for two more seconds, then walk away.

Insult them right back, and make sure it's a good one so you can embaress that person, then laugh and walk away.
