Having confidence in oneself, comes from one knowing what defines oneself.
You'd basically have to know all the good and bad things about yourself and know all the things you are cabable of. Once you know how to respect yourself and accept yourself for what you are, confidence comes naturally, so naturally to a point where you don't even think about self confidence.

If that is the case, you build your confidence by knowing that no one else is that special either.
Really, what is special? What make one special? What makes one not special? I would argue that there is somethings special to be found in everyone. What it comes down to is whether or not you can find that specialness in yourself. You build up your confidence when you realize the things that are special about you.

There you are wrong. You are very, very special. In each human being is a universe of possibilities. If you'll come to learn this, you'll have no problem developing self confidence.
Think of it like this: Every mind is comprised of perceptions, how you see things, what you feel, think about, what you see and know, all is perceptions, right? You are a unique individual and unique means special, doesn't it? You're capable of more than you know and even showing kindness or being in the right place at the right time, even pure happenstance can all of a sudden make you the most important person in someone's life. Don't sell yourself short, friend.

Holy ****! Who the hell told you you are not special!!! Please stop feeling sorry for yourself! Every living human is special in there own way! People don't seem to realize that they do make a difference in others peoples lives! We all affect the things around us on a daily basis. As far as confidence well here it is "Don't be afraid to say what you want to who you want!" Life is to short to lack confidence after all it is only a word! There are things in my past I wish I would have done and I kick myself in the *** about it but I will never let things pass me by again even if it means not getting the response I was looking for! The old saying applies here "It is better to try and fail then to have never tried at all!". Live by that! Who cares about what others think because everyone has an opinion and that does not affect you and how you live!

Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are special five times each day. Some people find this hard to do at first but give it a go. Evening classes help people build confidence, it worked for me.
Everyone is unique and everyone is special to someone.

Hello,
what makes you think that you are not that special? What would make you feel special? Somebody´s opinion?
If you knew any embriology, you would know that the chances for becomming YOU were - no chance! and yet, there you are! So, biologicaly, you are an amazing accomplishment in human species! And to know that you have all your organs developed and functioning right ( I hope) should make you feel lucky!
If you are going trough rough periods in your life and have some dubts about being important and special, know that it´s normal.
You should maybe study some embriology to see how the evolution and selection allowed you to be, or you could help to some of those people who need help - knowing that you made someone happy will make you feel good about yourself and than you will know that you are special! Don´t spend your time on theese dark toughts, do something to learn more about you and people around you! There are so many people who need your smile, good will and help! try

My friend nobody is special.
People just keep telling to themselves that they are special (they even do it answering your question).
And when they believe that, they try to persuade others that they are special. And if a lot of people believe them they are accepted as "special" people.
Enjoy your life as an ordinary non-special person and know that all the "special" people that you meet are not that special.
Maybe then you'll also be more confident.

Because you are that special.
If you don't believe it, leave a DNA sample at a crime scene. When the DNA specialist faces you in the courtroom and tells the Jury that the odd of two people having the same DNA as yours is 7 trillion to one. You'll feel special.
You are not only special, you are unique.

Silly, why are you not special? Let me ask you by whose standards are you using. The popular majority I expect.... O-kay maybe you don't fit the mold of higher education, in fact maybe you hate school and I bet you do not look like Angelie Jolie but inside I bet you have something!!! Are you compassionate? Are you giving? Are you creative? Are you talented in the arts, drama or music? Use it and go as far as you can with it and help others that are less fortunate that will allow you to lift your esteem and realize all you are worth to those around you. Hey, rent a copy of "It's a Wonderful Life..." and watch it and learn from it.

Well, you have to first realize that you are special. GOD made every one of us different and unique. The fact that you exist makes you very special. I know I'm here for a reason even if I haven't found it yet. If you continue to tell yourself that you are not special then you won't be to other people. People can see how special I am when they talk to me, perhaps this could work for you to if you give it a chance. Good luck and GOD bless.
