I am almost 33 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. I had twin boys in September 05 and got pregnant 8 months after having them. I had them at 36 weeks. I have been having weird pains but they are not regular and also sharp pains in my back I woke up last night with a horrible stomach ache and was just wondering what my chances were that I would go into early labor, I have had a stressful pregnancy taking care of twins on my own and have been arguing alot with the childrens father.

Dont worry too much. But maybe your doctor should be giving you steroid shots anyways, to be safe. I would definitley ask him about that. That way if you do have your baby soon the babys lungs will be developed. I had my 3rd son at 34 weeks (had steroid shots with him) and he was so healthy. 5 lbs and 2 oz and never needed any special attention. We were both home 2 days later. Now Im 30 weeks with my 4th and I have been having preterm labor signs and have already been put into the hospital for it and given meds and steroid shots to develop her lungs. Take care and I know its too hard to say try to stay stress free ( I have 3 boys and My husband works out of town for a month at a time) But try to rest as much as possible.

It could be preterm labor but most likely is stress. I am 34 weeks with this baby and I got pregnant when my daughter was 6 months old...oops. I have a history of ptl and so my doctors monitor me closely. I also lost my plug at 37 weeks and have had nothing but contractions ever since. Try to relax. I know with twins...yeah sure...and watch for rhythmic aches either in your back or in your stomach. If you notice this, call your doc or go to the ER IMMEDIATELY. 33 weeks is too soon!

there's no way to tell =( I am 37 weeks- and started losing parts of my mucus plug at 32 weeks. Ive had contractions and back pains and yada yada- at some points i was convinced i was going to have her pre-term.. but like my mom said- with subsequent pregnancies you tend to feel everything more - ie braxton hicks etc etc... you never know when you're going into labor- until it happens. I've been dialated to 1cm- 50% effaced and baby has been completely dropped for 2 weeks now- and i'm still sitting here just waiting! Try not to stress out- i'm sure you are fne- it all sounds very normal..... ignore the "OMG GO TO THE ER NOW" answers... you told your Dr- and he said it was fine- your mucus plug is like your amniotic fluid- when you lose small amounts at a time- it replenishes itself.
Also with your first pregnancy- you had twins- they almost always come very early! Don't freak out =)

Getting pregnant so soon after your last pregnancy puts you at risk for haivng pre-term labour yes... your pains are not coming and going and are not consistant so it sounds like it's just stress related. Try taking a warm bath, how do you feel after? If the pain subsides then you're fine... but if you still are nervous see your doctor, they don't mind the visit.

OMG go to E.R if you have been losing pieces of your mucous plug that is signs of labor coming soon which can be weeks from now.If you see blood in the mucuos go to the doctor. At least check it out because I know you don't want to put your baby at risk. Good luck, Mom

I don't know percentages, but it sounds possible...Preterm labor is dangerous! Call you doc & tell him/her about your plug, then get off your feet!!! 38 weeks is considered safe but 40 weeks is much better for you & the baby!!! Try to rest!
