Let me first clarify of-hand. Simple and crude. This is a brainless assumption based on gut-feeling. But It think will hold true.
There is very little chance. Likely is that Democrats will lose the presidency if Obama runs for president.
Why?
The general population have little or no chance to know the runners. Leaving it all to image.
And..
1.- US is a racist country. the fact that it has and require a bunch of legislation to avoid racism, Proves that the population is racist.
Non-racist countries do not use anti-racist laws.
2.-The country hates Osama, US population is been thought to hate Osamba for half a decade. ... and Obama sounds just like it.
Individuals are smart, population is dumb.

Barack Obama does have the name recognition to stand a chance at becoming president. However, minority presidential candidates, like blacks, Hispanics, and even women, have never fared well, even with the name recognition. For example, when Walter Mondale picked Geraldine Ferraro as his VP, it was a good choice, but the American people didn't want a woman in the office of VP.
Also, Barack Obama is a newcomer to Washington politics. He has only served in the US Senate for two years. Before that, he was a state legislator in Illinois. Even if he does win, it is doubtful that he will have enough support in both houses of Congress. It's not to be said that he won't be good, but that Americans traditionally have only voted white men into the office of President, and typically, those who have large name recognition and big coffers. Obama possesses these qualities, but also remains to be seen how big his support is outside of Illinois and in the interior of the country, which remains largely Republican.
At the same time, Hillary Clinton's only advantage is that her husband was president. Most people will remember Bill Clinton's shortcomings when they get to the polls. Most Americans are also not yet comfortable with having a woman in a position of power like that. The majority of Americans that vote are coming from religious backgrounds, which largely teach that only men should hold positions of authority within the church and within government. Hillary Clinton, like Obama, is extremely liberal, which may win points in the states with large populations, like New York, California, and Florida, but again, probably not within the large majority of interior states.
One advantage that both Obama and Clinton hold is their position against the Iraq war. While it may not be militarily feasible, both are strongly in favor of withdrawing all Americans from Iraq and Afghanistan. A large number of Americans are in favor of this position, and it may doom John McCain, who is likely to receive the Republican nomination. Although this stance is shared by many politicians and voters, I think that a vast majority of them, including the Iraq Study Group, have not analyzed the feasibility from both a military and an economic standpoint. Because of this, I will not vote for a candidate that supports withdrawal from Iraq without first seeing a report about how this can be done safely, both to Americans and the Iraqis, and efficiently.
All in all, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both have the potential to win, but based on what American voters have traditionally voted for, neither have a good chance at winning.

he has a damned good chance, not because he is qualified or even some one that had possibilities, but, because he is black and a Muslim, and so many whites in this country would rather die than let some one think they are not P,C, or the least bit racist, however he don't really have a chance, the Jews won't allow that unless he is merely a plant which I do suspect, the Jews have to much to lose if he is genuine, what Muslim would keep giving Israel all of the freebies they are now receiving, and the bombs and such to kill Muslims with, no way

I don't think he will make it to becoming the Democratic candidate for President in the next election...not because of his race but because of his lack of political experience. However, I think he has an excellent shot at being the Democrat Vice-Presidential candidate. Assuming the Democrats get into office (which is another discussion), that would put Obama in excellent position for being the presidential candidate for 2012 or 2016 (depending on the status of the President at that time).

What would his motive be for running, that he's civic minded or can make a difference, He has no business entertaining the thought, as he has nothing to offer the American public, but some jazz

I think Obama has just as good as a chance to be president as anyone. The worst argument I have heard against Obama is that his name rhymes with Osama. If he doesn't get elected, it will be more from pure stupidity than racism.

A chance ? Yes oh yes. But I don't want him to run for all the treats that he might encounter on his life. I fear for him . I love him a lot.He is very intelligent and good looking. I don't know if the world is ready for him. I hope he does not run. Some Americans Are not ready for this man. My God Bless him

He does have a chance, but watch for a withering assault from the Clinton machine... Carville, Begala, McAuliff, Davis.. in the near future. If he survives the initial wave, he should have as much of a chance as the other non-Hillarys do...like Edwards.

I don't think it will be the fact that he is black that will pose an issue. The issue will be with his name. Obama is too much like Osama and his middle name is Hussein. I'm sorry but this guy doesn't have a chance.
