Anything new? My mother is taking my husband, son and myself, along with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew. Ages range from 1 - 57. We are staying in one of the resorts, and will be using the Disney buses to get around. We are staying 6 nights/7 days. Suggestions? Tips?

Thanks!

well if at all possible I would def. get the pass where you get to be front in all of the rides. I forgot what it is called but you pretty much get a behind the scenes tour of disneyworld and do not have to wait in any lines. Epcot is also a must see. Also if you can try to schedule a breakfast with the disney characters for the younger ones. You have to do it early cause they sale out fast. Go to the library and rent a book that tells you everything for the 2006 year. It gives you ratings on everything. Very informative.

A lot has chnaged in the past four years. Please note that it will be very busy and very hot while you're there. Your best bet is to have a plan in place to visit the attractions you most want to see as early as possible (like be there for park opening). Napping and swimming in the afternoons is suggestable as that's when crowds and wait times will be at their peaks. Take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours as you will be staying on property.

New attractions not to miss-

Magic Kingdom
- Pirates of the Caribbean now features Jack Sparrow
- Monster's Inc. Comedy Club
- Mickey's Philarmagic
- Wishes Fireworks show
- Stage shows have been changing regularly, as have the parades
- It's A Small World has been refurbished
- Stitch's Great Escape

Epcot
- Mission: Space
- Soarin'
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- Turtle Talk with Crush
- Journey into the Imagination has been redone

* All of these except Jounrey will have long waits as they are popular-- Nemo is very popular with the kiddies!*

Disney's MGM Studios
- Lights, Motors, Action stunt show
Nothing else really comes to mind...hmmm...

Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest
*Get there at park opening and go straight to Everest; get Fastpasses and get in line to ride; use the Fastpasses when the time comes up*
- Primeval Whirl

For not-to-miss attractions, check out the Disney website as they highlight most of the attractions on the main pages for each of the parks.

Good luck and happy planning!

If you're going to stay at a value reort stay at Pop Century. All of the All-Star resorts were nasty (so I thought).
Okay, lets see whats new since 4 years ago...
uhm.
They updated the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Magic Kingdom. Barbossa and Davy Jones and Capt. Jack Sparrow were added.
At animal kingdom there is the new expedition everest ride which in my opinion is the best ride of all 4 parks.
Also at Animal Kingdom is the Finding Nemo live show, which is really really good. The performers are so talented.
Since its the Year of a Million Dreams, at Magic Kingdom the new stage show is something having to do with that (i haven't seen it yet)
At EPCOT they have added soarin' which is a fun little ride simulator that makes you feel like you are flying over California.
As far as updates I think thats about it. I could be wrong and might have left stuff out, but yeah.
Have a Magical time!

We just went this past June and it was a blast. We stayed at the Pop Century Resort (7day/6 night) and we went everywhere. Magic Kingdom is a must just to see the castle. After that, I could spend all my time in Epcot and MGM studios. Animal Kingdom is also really cool, you HAVE to see the Tree of Life. My uncle helped construct that tree (it is made out of concrete). It was miserably hot when we went so we had to cut Animal Kingdom short. I would go to those 4 places and whatever ones you like the most or didn't get through, spend your other 3 days going back to them.

Fantastc!!! We go every other year for Christmas. Our ages ranged from 1 to 84 this year. We are very brave but we have a wonderful time. We always stay at the polynesian when we are with the family. When my husband and I take the kids we stay at the Beach Club. We like to walk to Epcot in the evenings. Here are few of my tips.
1.Make your priority seating reservations as soon as possible. Most of the restaurants accept them 90 days from the first day of your vacation. You are aloud to start calling at 7:00 am. Start dialing at 6:58 am and keep hitting redial until you are through. You might even want to call ahead of time and write down the number sequence that you have to punch in. You can get through to a real person faster that way. For instance Cinderella’s Castle usually books up by 7:05am. Call (407) WDW-DINE and ask them the exact date that you can call.
2.I always buy the park hopper pass, because I try never to stay at the Magic Kingdom after 11:30am. I get there when they open. The opening celebration is really neat. They sometimes open early for Disney Hotel Guests. Check on line for the extra magic hours. You can find them at www.Disney.com. I go directly to the rides that my kids want to ride. We may pick up a Fast Pass on the way. If you have more adults then kids then you can spread out your fast passes. (pick up more than 1 ride at a time, One adult with each child). For instance my daughter loves the Honey Pots so we go directly there sometimes at 7:00 am. We never have a line. Sometimes they even let us ride 2 or three times without getting out of our car.
3.Mickey’s Toon Town Fair usually opens later then the park. You will have Minnie’s House and Mickey’s House practically to yourself. And no line to see Mickey.
4.Always plan your afternoon reservations at one of the other parks. Unless you have lunch at the Castle (try to make it early)
5.The Hoop – De – Doo and the Luau (at the Polynesian) are great evening shows. Your ticket covers an all you can eat meal at your table (not a buffet) and all you can drink Beer, Wine and soft drinks. I believe that you can call up to 2 years in advance. Call ASAP for the best table. My One year old had a blast this Christmas.

Have Fun!!!!

Since you are staying at one of the Disney Resorts you are entitled to " Disney Express" transportation free from the airport to and from. Don't pack anything of value in your suitcase when the " Disnet Express " picks up your luggage earlier than when your flight is leaving. My laptop computer was stolen from my suitcase last month and there is a fight between '" Disney Express " and TSA over who's responsibility it was and who stole it. There has been a rash of incidents over " Disney Express" because they subcontract their workers they hire to bring the luggage to the airport.

You will be going during the hottest part of the year and the crowds will be great. I like Epcot better myself. I was just there last month at both Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Smaller kids will enjoy Magic Kingdom. I was bored with it.
