Haviing just seen one of the failed bombers hide behind it to try and plant a bomb, then there was the killing of Sharon Besinisky and it was used for the killer to leave the country. How can we tell who's entering the country or leaving it, when they use it to hide behind, even honest and moderate Muslims must see the sense in banning it !!

Actually, yes it should be. To those who say it is an important part of their religion, that is immaterial. Just try saying that in a Muslim country when they confiscate your crucifix as you enter. Islam outlaws the symbols of other religions so why should they get special treatment?

While I understand your view, implementing this ban would be more trouble than its worth as it does form an important element of some Muslims religious beliefs. We need to get the balance right.
Immigration could easily have chosen to challenge the person leaving the country wearing the Burka. They slipped up and I would guess they are now checking them all.
