Stumps are the piece of wood which you see behind the batsman which the bowlers attempt to hit and aim at. Wicket is also the same and this term also applies to the batsman of the batting team as you know like, the score is 170 for the loss of three wickets. They won by 6 wickets, meaning the score the runs required to win without getting their 6 batsmen dismissed. You can't use the word stump here.

Wickets is the area between the two opposite sides where the stumps are planted. Stumps are the sticks that the bowler aims to uproot them. When a batsman hits the stumps by his bat or his body, a term is used " hit-wicket" meaning that he got out by hitting the stumps.

No difference at all...I guess the only thing you might say is that the perhaps when the stumps refers purely to the uprights, and that the term wickets refers to it when the bails have been placed on top of the stumps to complete the wickets???

Wickets are the players of the team. When any player is given out that means that team lost thier wicket, so we can say that wicket is a player that is given out, and rest of wickets(Players) are in hand.
Stumps are the sticks on the both ends of the pitch. Also the term STUMPS is used in test match when the play is finished of one day. Also when a batsman is out of the creeze and wicketkeeper hit the stumps with ball then it is called that player is Stumped out.

Wicket -Either of the two sets of three stumps, topped by bails, that forms the target of the bowler and is defended by the batsman.

The stumps are three vertical posts which support two bails.

A wicket consists of three stumps, upright wooden stakes that are hammered into the ground, topped with two wooden crosspieces, known as the bails.

3 Stumps = Wicket

The stumps are the three wooden sticks at the end of the wicket (pitch played on).
A wicket, not wickets, can also be three stumps collectively.
