well i'ved been separated since last year of june, have four kids and todsay im going to fill for my tax return but dont know if i should half my kids with my soon to be ex so he can fill to. everyone is telling me to claim all but separate return cuse his the one who does not have the kids 24/7 is that been greedy or is it a good idea.

You both can't count all four kids. You 2 need to mutally decide what that you are going to do.

does he pay you child support? Does he help you with your kids ?does he see them regularly? Do your kids stay with him 6 months out of that year of separation? if you anwsered Yes to all of these questions than half your kids, if he hasn't done neither of these, Girl by all means be greedy for your kids sake.You feed them, put a roof over there heads and are there for them 24/7 your kids need that money more than anythhing else so don't feel bad about being greedy!!

Be smart and file separate and file all the kids that live with you. That's not being greedy, you deserve that. Don't feel bad about that. Enjoy life.

yes be fair..if you have the children..more than him file all of the children..but if u spilt the visitations..than spilt the return..speak to him before you do this..you dont need any problems with the irs

if you have the kids you do have to file them all under your name because you are the main suporter of them YES YOU DO YOU HAVE NO OTHER WAY.
