its just recently come to my notice that shilpa shetty is being made the victim of vindictive racism by the other cheap, fickle fellow roomies on big brother. and i cant help but ask myself....why? in a fast progressing world with liberal thinking and integrated communities why do these people resort to such sadistic means to prove their superiority?.

The other Women are obviosly jealous of her. Ganging up like that on one woman is so catty and childish and unfortunatley, a female thing.
I modelled a few years ago in my teens and all I got was crap from other women leaving me out and wanting to fight me and backstabbing.
It is sad, but they are picking on her as she is beautiful. Jade Goody needs banning from t.v anyway, glad she has ruined her "career"

Well, what can I say, if it was indeed racism and it really hurt Shilpa so bad then why the U-turn and the denial. I really did not see reason of why in India the media had to spend and waste so much of prime time and paper on this issue, and to think of the fact that the most well educated and influential did not see through the trick. It was plain simple publicity stunt, that was engineered by the promoters of the show and Shilpa, come to think of it if one were to investigate I am sure you will see that this was all a huge drama staged for publicity. Moreover a show like Big Brother was at the verge of being kicked out not untill this incident happend. I think it was something that was blown out of proportion by the Indian media especially, lets look into our own yard, on TV most of the commercials are for creams, oils and soaps that make your skin fair. So now whose is the hyppocrite? Come on guys lets stop kidding ourselves, we are as much racist as the Brits, atleast they discriminate people from other countries, we DO IT WITH OUR OWN.

If it weren't for juvenile, obnoxious, petty behavior related to being drunk, sleeping around, being attractive, fitting in, not fitting in, being loved, or being despised, no one would watch stupid reality television like Big Brother. Those people are in that house to offend, betray, annoy, back-stab, lie to, and otherwise make the others in the house somehow beneath each other in order to win a large sum of money. All sorts of vile behavior has been shown on Big Brother and everyone thought it was cheeky and scandalous and entertaining until the victim was from India, and then suddenly we all expected the housemates to be nothing but dignified and loving and respectful of all diversity and human rights. WTF?!
My position is this. If you are a Big Brother watcher then you - by definition - find yourself entertained by people acting horribly and cruelly to each other. Don't you *dare* have the nerve to suddenly be offended because you think that making fun of someones accent is unspeakable while lying and cheating and betrayal and general despicableness is "just good TV."

I'm not Indian but I think most minorities can relate to being bullied in such a way. Those girls' actions were completely appalling and the fact that they didn't even care about it being televised makes it even worse that they don't even realize the error of their ways.
