I understand why your dad opposes tatoos. When you are young it seems like the right thing to do in order to display your independence and be like the other kids with tattos. But, a tatoo stays with you for life. As you grow older you will likely grow to dislike that tatoo. So, from a father who has been there, please listen to your dad and respect his wishes.

My mother told me the same thing and then she went out and got one! LOL Tattoos are a personal preference. You can get one in a discreet area where he won't see it. You haven't stated how old you are either. If you are underage, you should listen to your father. If you are over 18, do what you want. Let's get real, will he REALLY disown you over something so silly?

You're family won't disown you I got a belly button piercing when I was 21 and my parents flipped but they got over it. Just make sure you know what you want cause unlike a piercing a tattoo lasts forever! You are your own person do what makes you happy.

You should get a tattoo done- it is your body! what is their problem anyway, they should get a life!

Ive got a tribal tattoo (in black) which has 3 red roses with it- it looks really nice, (its on my lower back)i had it done last september for my Birthday. The thing is now im addicted and want a couple more tattoos done- love em! and my few piercings i have- gonna get a couple more of those too!

Take care.

In the long run, it is your body that you will be tattooing. If you do get one, I suggest getting it on an area of your body that you can easily cover up: not only so you can hide it from your family, but also so that if you do not like it some time in the future, you can cover it up.

If its something u really want and you have thought about it i cant see a problem... I got a tattoo done and my dad went mad but i think its natural for dads to go 'mad' but they get over it!!!
