Has anyone here had their house used in movies or TV?

I live in southern California. They are always filming movies and TV in my neighborhood. Is there some way to register your house so the Hollywood scouts will know you are willing to allow it to be used? How much do they pay? Do you get residuals?

When CMT made my brother-in-law's music video, they were driving around and spotted a house here in NC, knocked on the door, and that was that. They didn't even have to pay the redneck.
