How can I reduce the width of the Favorites column on my homepage?

If it's on some website that can be personalized, such as myYahoo, then you have to accept the default width of the columns, and can't change those.

If you are talking about the "sidebar", where the favorites are displayed all the time on the left side of the page, place your cursor on the spacer between the Favorites and the web page. When it becomes a double arrow, click and drag.

If you are talking about the favorites drop down menu, it will be as wide as the longest name you have in the list. Find and shorten the name, and the menu will get narrower.
