how good are you at drawing? You have to be an excellent illustrator, able to wrk fast and for hours at a time. Also you will start as an apprentice, and you wont tattoo anyone for even a year.

Another thing, if you want to be successfull, you have to have a really distinct style and be good with people and networking.

In being a tattoo artist, you also have to be licensed and subject yourself to inspection by the local health department.
