Small statured people have babies all the time. The baby will form to his or her accomodations (if you have a smaller uterus and have less blood volume flowing to it, the baby will probably remain smaller.) If you are really that worried, I would go see an OB. If anything, they can ease your fears, and the less worried and stressed you are during pregnancy, the better it is for you and your baby. Good luck!

I am 5ft 8inches tall. When I got pregnant with my first son I was 93 pounds and dropped to 85 during the first trimester. My hips were only 32 inches!!! I was just recovering from anorexia. I gained 20 pounds more then the normal pregnancy weight (26 pounds) and gave birth to a 8 pound 10 ounce boy.

The female body is a wonderful thing. Your pelvic spreads for the babies needs. And a good OB checks you very well each month and then weekly at the end. So for very small women they may put you at a high risk pregnancy but that is not always a bad thing. They check for everything that could go wrong. That made me feel better knowing I was getting extra care.
But many small women have babies with no extra care and do just fine also.

As for your fear of a small opening (vagina) do not worry about this either. The body lets out hormones to soften and losen the opening during labor. The nurse will also help things along with her fingers to help you relax your muscles.

C-sections are much lower then they were 20 years ago. So try not to worry about that at this time.

Good luck.

I am also very tiny but petite. I'm 26 and i'm mistaken for a child 12-19 all the time.
I had the very same fear that I wouldn't be able to have children the natural way. The only person who will know for sure is your doctor and she'll be able to tell you a few months in to the pregnancy which way you'll have to go (surgery or natural).
The main problem that can occur is whether or not your hips spread wide enough during the pregnancy to make room for the baby.

Talk to your doctor & good luck!

I was only 105lbs, when I got pregnant with my daughter. I gained 39lbs and deliveried naturally. My doctor never said anything about my size and my daughter was 6lbs 2oz at just 36 weeks. So I think that you will be just fine.
Good Luck

when my mom got pregnant with me she weighed a whole 92 lbs, she was tiny!!! She gained 56 lbs with me and gave birth to me natural and I weighed 8lbs. Only your dr can tell you how you will have to deliver your kids.
