First i have a professor that is from a foreign country and I cant under stand him.We were doing factoring problems and I had no clue what we were doing he was just writing all over the board. Second I havent taken math since high school which was almost 2 years ago. So the only thing I can think of is trying a online course my school offers. Does any body know if online is better. Or what sould I do.

My experience has been that online classes are not very good for things like math, finance, and accounting as these things require live demonstration.

I would go ahead and drop the class and wait for an English-speaking instructor. Be sure to let your advisor know exactly why you are dropping the class.

If this is the first week of school then u should be able to drop the one and pick up another one with a different prof. Math is one of the toughest college classes I ever had.. If u can't understand him now, it will get worse as the class gets harder. Unfortunately colleges hire people for classes that they have no business teaching.. My opinion only.. If u are struggling in a subject like math, don't take it online.. It will be a mistake..GL

The only bad thing I have to say about online math class is that the teacher is not right there in front of you to answer any questions. If you have a problem you have to email. But other thatn that it is a good experience. you may like it better than a regular class.

On-line classes are often MORE difficult than regular classes. They require a greater degree of self-teaching and self-generated knowledge. Further, they require better time management and organizational skills. I often tell my advisees that on-line classes are really an alternative for students who normally do well in the regular classes, NOT as an easy way out for struggling students. Plus, a regular class offers opportunities for group work, extra help, and collaboration. Stick it out, especially since it's the first day.

First of all.. .do you NEED this class? If you don't need it for your degree take something else. Can you switch to another section of the course? Does your class have a teacher's aid that you can do to for extra help? You can always hire a tutor. Online math is tough I wouldn't advise it

IF YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T PASS THE CLASS...then drop it...but it's only the first day...teachers who usually have an accent you will be able to understand them as time goes on...(trust)...but if you are stressing the first day...drop it so you can get a spot in another class...

It relies upon on the faculty. many schools could require college algebra of *all* scholars... yet not all colleges. you ought to communicate on your academic consultant with the intention to verify if it fairly is required at your college, of poli sci majors.
