On what? I use an RSS reader to keep up on current events. That way, I can see a variety of topics on a single page from a variety of sources and tailor the topics to my interests. I don't think there's a single site that covers everything very well.

www.answers.com is a great site for looking up words, what they mean, where did they originate, how to pronounce them, how are they translated into different languages
And if you want to increase your knowledge, you must know the meanings of the words in the subject that you're reading about.
I also suggest Wikipedia as a good place to start to look up information on anything that might interest.
You may for example, hear something on TV about Languages spoken in Egypt, you can go to the wiki and look them up!
btw the last language spoken before the current Arabic was Coptic.
Another suggestion I can give you is to use an RSS reader, say for example you were to develop an interest in Nanotechnology, you can find a site that will give you the latest news on Nanotech, if you subscribe to their RSS feed you can have the latest Nanotech news appearing on your Google page
It's really easy to subscribe to RSS feeds, Firefox(a web browser) has a button that says subscribe, it's in the toolbar, all you have to do is to go to a site and push the button.
My last bit of advice to you is to pick a subject, People that have a good bit of general knowledge(GK) usually have a subject that interests them more than any other. So my suggestion to you is that if you wanna increase you GK, Pick a specialization, which is anything that you are really interested in, that will help you alot in your learning in general
Good Luck!
