My theory is that men invented marriage. Because sometimes as a man we find ourselves in relationships with people that we respect and care about too much to break up with. If there wasn't such thing as marriage then there wouldn't be anything to bring the relationship to a close. When we, as men, deny women marriage, they leave. They say "I love you, but if you won't merry me I'll find someone who will." Problem solved. We are now single again, free to do as we please. These guys your talking about that are married aren't "men". They are "guys". Men aren't worried about being single, men like being single. Because men can get a women whenever they want, and they want the freedom to get any women they want. "Guys" have the same bits as men, but in the head they are totally different. Once a guy actually gets a women he's not going to let her go. That's the only chick he could trick into being with him. If she took off it would be years before he gets another one. That's why women stop pampering their man when they get married. They realize he isn't really a man, so they don't respect him anymore. Unless the guy is the cheating type. Men don't cheat. It's really disrespectful. Men have honor. Guys don't have the guts to be honest with their mate, so they cheat. For some reason when guys cheat, women somehow know it and keep competeing for his love. So to answer your question, you can't merry a man. You can only merry a guy. Guys either don't have the option to be unfaithful, or they do. If they have the option they will cheat, simple as that. If they were man enough not to cheat they wouldn't have gotten married in the first place. If you want a real man, it's gonna be short term. Cause real men aren't wired to settle down. But then you probobly already knew all of this. Women just say "Not my man" and stop thinking about it. Just cause you don't think about it doesn't mean it's not true. Enjoy the honeymoon!

The same things that women want but with a lot less of the BS.Same thing that keep women faithful I hope you have not swallowed the BS about men cheating more than women. I was watching this program on discovery channel where British researchers ask a random group of men and women how many sexual partners they have had the women average about 7 in their answers the men about 22.

When the hook up everyone to a lie detector the women total went up to about 12 the men went down to about 13 so what it shows is both sexes lie for different reason and there is not as much difference as you think. Just treat the other person as you would want to be treated it is that simple.

Fundamentally, the fact that we are growing and raising a family is what men enjoy the most about marriage. The blood, sweat and tears that we put into building something we aspire will be great. The sacrifices that are made in order for the betterment of the family is a great source of pride due to the fact that YOU protect your family. YOU put a roof over their heads. YOU love your children's mother and that YOU will give your life for your own flesh and blood.

What keeps the man to one woman is the understanding of challenges posed before them. When they see what opportunities are there for them to grow together, live together and most importantly challenge each other to be the best they can be. There will always be cowards, sinners and plain heartless people who only seek the instant gratification, the accumulation of wealth and power.

A Real Man measures up simply by stepping up to the plate, taking a few swings when the ball comes. When you have a hit, it may be for a single, double, triple or home-run. The ball may go foul or someone gets you out or you can strike out. All that is important is that in marriage, like baseball, you play the game.

So my way of staying faithful? Be a Cal Ripken Jr. of marriages. No matter for good times or bad, in sickness and in health, you are there.

Cherish about marriage? A 24/7 partner to help me achieve lofty goals that I could not accomplish on my own. Sex. Companionship. Someone to watch 'Strange Brew' with. Sex. A great partner/mother in raising our children, aka our legacy. And sex. That's pretty much the sum of it ;)

Want in a wife? Unwielding support, faithfulness and appreciation for my talents and oddities. Sex.

Keeps me faithful? How can I ask for her unwielding support, faithfulness and appreciation if I don't give it to her also. Sex.

;)

H Vice - great answer! I concur.

Nothing keeps men faithful. Don't hope that if you are "The Perfect Wife" your man won't jump at the opportunity to be unfaithful. Men want someone to have regular sex with, bear their children, wash their cloths, and make food. Very simple, all the rest is in women's imagination.

Men's needs are rather simple and basic. Treat us well; bear our children; and have marital relations on a regular basis.

Anything my wife does beyond that is just "gravy".

Sweetheart, don't give much merit to the answers you receive from the male species. They think about sex approximately ten times a minute. Their skills are very limited.

Just love yourself more today than yesterday but not as much as tomorrow.
