Star Wars! I remember it from the drive-in when it came out. It was incredible! Nothing else was even remotely like it. I spent nearly the whole two weeks that it played hidden in the back row at the local the drive-in. Then the cinemas at the mall opened with surround sound. I never knew what hit me. I spent my whole allowance there every time any of my friends were going, I had to go. LotR just didn't have that kick for me. It was a great movie, but I didn't have the chance to read the books before Star Wars came out.
