Yes, Jack made the only call he could have, although I wouldn't have shot to kill if I could have helped it, but, I don't think Jack had any other shot to take in this instance. Although Curtis has been on the show since Day 4 and was someone Jack could count on, I believe that it was necessary to the context of this season for Jack to have to take him out. I CAN'T WAIT until next week to see what will happen next, so far this is an AWESOME day in the life of Jack Bauer.

No, Curtis was the only person on that show that had the balls to do what was right, everyone else is a wuss this season, including Jack. Jack because he didn't have the guts to tell the president he's a pansy for making the deal with fayed, instead of forcing him to help them. The president most of all because he negotiated with terrorists in the first place, if he didn't they wouldn't have had the nuke expert to let off the bomb in the first place. The no negotiation policy is there for a reason, that this show disgregarded it makes them all seem silly. Curtis didn't want the deal, and was prepared to take out a real killer. Jack should have let him blow that dude's head off.

Thing is Curtis was shileding himself with the other Guy so Jack had no choice but to shoot Head or Neck.
And yeah i would have done the same

Sad though, I really loved Curtis, he was the black version of Jack.. Plus, didn't it make for an AMAZING cliffhanger to the season premiere? Awesome!!! I love 24!!!!

NO!! he should have just shot his arm and wounded him. How could he kill a good man and friend to protect a terrorist?? I understand that they needed him to help find Fayed but that was rediculous. They are killing off all of the original cast members. There is only Jack and Chloe left.

The only shot he had was a head or neck shot. I don't think he was trying to kill him, just put him down. He had to shoot.

no. he totally didnt have to shoot him in the NECK. that was so ridiculous. he could have shot him in the shoulder or hand, and if he was trying to kill him he should have shot him in the head. but he had to stop him from killing whatshisname so yeah i would have pulled the trigger.

No I wouldn't have.
He had no choice to shoot him in the neck.
Curtis was wearing a bulletproof vest.
A shot to the leg and he would have had time to kill the guy.
