my mum is going to move into a new working place and will be doing a 'goodbye-speech'. She also wants to include a poem on the speech. Does anyone know a good suitable poem? Thx a lot

The Human Seasons

FOUR Seasons fill the measure of the year;
There are four seasons in the mind of man:
He has his lusty Spring, when fancy clear
Takes in all beauty with an easy span:

He has his Summer, when luxuriously
To ruminate, and by such dreaming high
Is nearest unto heaven: quiet coves

His soul has in its Autumn, when his wings
He furleth close; contented so to look
On mists in idleness--to let fair things
Pass by unheeded as a threshold brook.

He has his Winter too of pale misfeature,
Or else he would forego his mortal nature.

John Keats

Loss and Gain

WHEN I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.

I am aware
How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent
Has fallen short or been turned aside.

But who shall dare
To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;
The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I'm turning in my parking pass
You've got my office key
We're gonna share a bit of cake
And then that's it for me
I'll walk out of here one last time
So I can drive away
Because I've got a better gig
Less hours for more pay
I thank you for your wishes
That good luck will befall me
If you have questions and need help
Don't ever freaking call me.

What is this life if full of care ,
We have no time to stand and stare?No time to stand beneath the boughs,And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see when woods we pass where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.No time to see in broad daylight,Streams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at beauty`s glance,and watch her feet how they can dance.No time to wait till her mouth can,enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if full of care,we have no time........etc

There once was a man from Peru, he dreamed he was eating his shoe, he woke with a fright in the middle of the night to find that his dream had come true!
