you can simplify this fraction to 3/20 because both 15 and 100 can be divided by 5. So the answer is 3/20.

% means 100. And any where you see %, you see division.
The reason 10% is 1/10 is this:
10/% ( And we know that % is 100)
so, we have 10/100= 1/10

And now, we will do the same thing:
15% is 15/% ( And we know % is hundred)
so, we have 15/100. By breaking it down,we can see that 5 goes on top, also on the bottom.

so,we have 15 divided by 5=3; and 100 divided by 5=20
writing this out, we have 3/20
So, our answer is 3/20


And the answer anujagraj gave you is wrong because 15% of 100 is 15.
