You know what kind of person you are. Don't take anything to heart if you know what they are saying isn't true.

For the most part, people can only hurt you emotionally if you care at all about them or their opinion.

Is this person someone important to you? If so, the question you should start asking is not how to have it bother you less, but why is this person you care about trying to hurt you? Allowing those we care about to hurt us without setting up boundaries and telling them No is a great way to set ourselves up for trouble.

If this is someone who is not important to you, then that makes your question simultaneously simpler and more difficult: if there's no love lost between you, then why does their opinion matter to you? It's simpler because it's a matter of recognizing that you don't care about them or their opinion, and once you realize that on a deeper level, their cruel intentions will no longer phase you. It's more difficult, because only you can answer the question of why you're letting these people hurt you.

Remember: poison is only deadly if you drink it. Just because someone hands you a cup filled with poison doesn't mean you have to drink it.

Start seeing them as the pathetic losers that they are. You obviously have something they want and can't ever have, like maybe a great personality, and the jealousy is eating them alive. It's almost enough to feel sorry for them. Just smile and go on and it will soon seem humorous to see them so desperate to pull you down to their level. They will need you one day, just wait and see. Chin up and all smiles, never let them know they are getting to you. Go home, shut the door, and take it out on your pillow. I have found that if I write a letter telling them exactly how I feel and then ripping it up and throwing it away seems to help with getting the hurt out of my system.

Only time will give you the ability to have things not hurt you when people say them. You have taken the first step in asking someone else, the next step now is to find out why it bothers you when someone says something hurtful to you. Then later you will see that when someone sayd something it only hurts you if you let it. People do things to other people that they will one day regret, those who hurt you now may need you later. You may not believe in it but karma has a funny way of dealing those punches back out evenly andf accurately. Be strong, and carry on.

Tell your self you are much better person. Walk with your head held high.

People may not recognize what you have done for them, but inside you know and God knows what you have accomplished.

Might want to stop hanging around these people. They are not worthy of your company.

Let your backbone come forth.. meaning stand up to them by smothering them with heaps of coal, meaning turn it all over to God to handle. He will not fail you!!!

People that do that are only lashing out because of their own insecurites and pain that they have suffered from at the hand of others. They do it to make them selves feel better and to make them feel superior to you.

KNOW in your heart that you are so much more self-confident and mature than that person. Remember whatever they say bad to someone else reflects their feelings about themselves.

Be a better person. Then it won't seem so personal when people point out your flaws.
