You mean

Sine : One of the six trigonometrical functions in an angle, the ratio of the perpendicular to the hypotenuse - identical with the cosine of the complementary angle. From the Latin sinus, a bay.

Cosine: the complementary function of a sine.

Tangent: A line which touches a curve. - the ratio of the perpendicular to the base, from Latin Tangens , to touch.

Cotangent: The complementary function of the tangent.
The other two signs are:

Secant: cutting or dividing. the reciprocal of the cosine (ie 1/cosine) from Latin secans : to cut

Cosecant: the complementary function to the secant : the reciprocal of the sine (ie 1/sine)

Hope that helps.

sinouse=winding, having many curves. cosinous=not too sure about this but, think it is related to the ratio of the side adjacent to an acute angle. (in a right triangle) to the hypotenuse. And I believe sinouse is from the Latin word sinus.
