It depends on which group u are using e.g.for group 1A density increases down the group but density of K(period 4) is less than Na (period 3). For most the pattern is general but some changes may occur as shown in example.

Density of atoms? That doesn't really make sense to me... atomic nuclei may be small like Hydrogen or relatively huge like Uranium but I don't know what it could mean to say one is more 'dense'.

What is it you're really trying to find out? If this is homework, I'd re-read the question.
