I am not saying they would have won either against Ohio State or Florida but who knows. I mean i know the BCS is flawed. If some team is undefeated they should go. I know they dont have as tough a schedule. But hey whats fair is fair.

Boise State - National Champions!! I like the ring of that.

understand and agree with you. The only way this argument will ever get resolved is to set up an 8 team playoff consisting ONLY of the 8 highest ranked CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS. Let them play off to a true winner. It is ridiculous to try to guess which conference has a harder schedule or whether the time of the loss matters. The present system is a pathetic joke.

In Baseball this year the cardinals won. they won their division and had one of the worst records of the division winners. Maybe there were teams with better records that didn't get to go but they didn't win their division. College football could do this if it wasn't all about the money.

Notre Dame is perfect example. They had no right to be in the BCS at all. Wisconsin and or Auburn were both more deserving (better records and higher ranked). Notre dame is 0-9 in the last 9 bowl games and 0-16 in their last 16 games against teams that finished the year in the top 10. That fact along BEGS for a playoff to eliminate the favoritism and give teams from the smaller conferences a REAL chance.

If they would have made it to the National Championship game, that wouldn't be fair. There are AT LEAST 6-8 teams in the country that would put a beat down on the boys from the blue field. I agree that the system is flawed but to say that Boise could possibly be the best team in the country is absurd. When you beat the best you can say you are the best. San Jose St, Fresno, LA Tech, Oregon St, etc. are hardly the best.

Boise State's only win over a ranked team was the Oklahoma game. They would not have finished undefeated in the SEC or Big Ten. They're a great story, but an overrated team.

yes the BCS is flawed but Boise St. even though undefeated is not in the same class or league as Ohio State or Florida. They weren't high enough ranked to play in the title game therefore they should not be the champs

Boise probably wouldn't have had much of a chance, but I agree, this wholes BCS bowl game crap is nonsense and is totally out of control. The only problem is they make so much money with all of these bowl games that any hopes of having a real championship series like there are in other sports could mean substantial loss of income, so it will probably never happen.
I just think it is ridiculous that some writers and coaches all sit in a room and get to decide who is going to play for the championship, you are supposed to earn the champion's spot, not get elected to it!

Boise State had a terrific team this year and proved themselves in the national spotlight. Enjoy the moment. In terms of polls and championships, Florida is rightfully number one. No one got robbed. the BCS owns the show and like it or not, everyone knows the deal.

I LOVED Boise State this year but lets be honest...They would not beat OSU, Florida, LSU, Auburn or USC.

#5 is just about right and it's NO DISGRACE!

If my favorite team finished #5 every year that would be great.

They are going to have to get into a better conference if they want respect.

We don't have to like it but that is the way it is, unfortunately!

Well it happened to Auburn a few years back and they ran the table in the SEC. Unless a playoff system is in place teams that should have a chance will not get it. That's the way it is and I don't see it changing anytime soon because of the money in the bowl games especially the Rose Bowl and the Big 10 a**holes.

They WERE in a BCS bowl! The rule states that if a non-BCS school finishes in the top 12 in the country, they are entitled to play in a BCS bowl. Boise State finished 9th and played Oklahoma and BEAT THEM, so how were they "robbed"?

That's why we need a playoff system.

I do think that if Boise had played UF, they'd've gotten creamed. Give Urban Meyers that long to plan, not many teams could beat him.

But I think they'd have done alright against Ohio. They were terrible. From watching games all season, I really believe they (meaning Ohio) only got to that spot by cheating. Every game I saw, they were pulling crap when the ref's weren't looking.
