Yes he was pushing racism towards whites. He started race riots, he was pushing hate towards whites. He is actually not the person he is so called to be.

Many posters here are proclaiming that Martin Luther King wanted everybody to have equal rights. OK, I'm fine with that, so why do blacks cry the loudest when Affimative Action and racial quotas are taken away? Seems they live by a double-standard inconsistent with King's teachings. Saying it's a program to make up for the sins of slavery is a dog that won't hunt. Every race and nation of people have suffered under slavery at sometime in history.

He did not believe that the black race was supreme over all like a white supremacist does, so how could he be labeled as a black supremacist? That make no sense.

"Let us hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away and the deep fog of misunderstanding will be lifted from our fear-drenched communities, and in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty."

Above is an excerpt of a letter written by Dr. King from a Birmingham jail (which, by the way, he was unlawfully placed after participating in a non-violent peace march.) Now, if these are the words of a true black supremist, I think that Webster's may want to try rethinking its definition of what racial supremacy really is. (In other words, he was a man of peace, not a black supremacist.)

Do you know what supremacist means? It means that you think all other races are inferior to yours. There is absolutely no evidence in any of his speeches, or letters or conversations with others (many of whom are still alive) that Dr. King ever believed anything like that. He certainly never said it in public. Also, the FBI admitted years ago that they listened in on his private conversations. Those tapes have been made public (through the Freedom of Information Act) and he never said anything racist in private either. So NO.

He never thought of himself or his race as sumpreme. Hence the difference. He asked for equality in all mankind: race, gender, religion, socio-economic was not an issue. The issue was that the reality of the constuition was a farce. Can you get a life and stop the drama and accept the fact that people of color did not "white man's power" it was just a matter of equality.
