Do you feel the US NEEDS a fresh face / fresh approach .. somone without the kind of baggage that a Bush acolyte or Hillary Clinton might bring to the table? Or do you think the race issue will trump all?

I understand he has started the ball rolling in his presidential bid...

I think a bigger question is Barak Obama ready for America?

I don't think it will be a racial issue. Obama's problem will be that he changed from Islam to Christianity a few weeks before being elected to the Senate, and that he has absolutely no track record people can reference.

If all that wasn't enough, he is not qualified for the job. That is not based on his race or religion, just on the fact that he has done nothing to prepare himself to be President. At least Hillary has been in the White House for 8 years. Some of the other candidates have been state governors, which is also a good preparation. Senators almost never win a presidential election when facing a former governor.

I agree that America needs more fresh faces in government. That's why I think term limits should apply to Congress.

However, who is Barack Obama? All we see is a media blitz, but no real substance. He's been a Senator for a whole two years. He has a very socialist voting record. He wrote that he did cocaine in college. I'm not impressed. (I'm also not impressed by any potential candidate who has been mention yet).

He is not fit to be president of the United States. In my opinion he has no substance or experience that would benifit American citizens. I do not know one person in my large family or circle of friends who would vote for him. I'm sure some people out there would, but I'm also sure those people have no idea what is best for the United States. I do care about this country and the PERSON who would be the president.

From opinions I've sought, I think that race will (surprisingly) be a non-issue. Only the tiniest portion of Americans would never vote for a black man no matter what, and only a few more would vote for him simply because he is black. (Oddly enough, it seems that the black people I ask feel that America is not ready for a black president.)

There are enough Hillary haters that I think he would be a stronger candidate than her, but I think inexperience could come back to bite Obama unless he spins his campaign well.

The media compares him to JFK. However,JFK was a Rep first, then a Senator (13 years combined),before he became President.

I think we know who the majority of the media would vote for. Nothing like pushing a candidate on ya.

The U.S. media certainly is, I don't think the American people even know who he is or what his positions are on anything. So far his attributes are he's a good talker and very liberal. If the elections were held today, he would fare poorly.

Unfortunately, he won't win....

However, I would vote for him if he became the Democratic candidate, I think he's far more intelligent and honest than your average politician, but I think too many ignorant people inhabit this country for him to have a shot at winning.

You know people will distrust him thinking he's a terrorist or something..."I don't want no Osama Hussein runin' this country!!! "

He said America was ready for some different kind of politics. I don't trust him.

Yes. I can't think of a better shake up than Obama, and the guy is smart. This country has only been run by old, white guys. Somethings gotta change eventually.
