on top of it ( as is all of north America except for a portion of the west coast ) THAT IS WHY IT IS CALLED THE NORTH AMERICAN PLATE !

Sorry about the yelling ( lol ) do a web search for PLATE TECTONICS and all will be clear ( Wikipedia would be a good place to start )

North America is made up of three countries. Mexico to the south, the United States in the middle, and Canada on the north end of the 'plate'. Canada is by far the largest of the three.

You seriously need help. Type "North American Plate" into any search engine. I figured it out in about 2 seconds. Basically, all of Canada lies over the North American plate.
