she is sick of buying party favors/goody bags for the kids. She asked me what I think about her giving each guest (10 year old kids) a scratch off lottery ticket and if parents would be offended. I just think that is something a 10 year old would not care about getting and told her to just not give favors...what is your opion? Keep in mind my friend is EXTRA trfty.

No lottery tickets, unless you want to see a bunch of disappointed ten year olds. Just have a cake and ice cream and make sure that there is enough balloons so that each child has a balloon to take home.

I have to agree with you. A lottery ticket wouldn't be offensive, but I don't think a 10 year old kid would appreciate it as much. What about a little goldfish? You can buy an individual goldfish for about 25 cents. You could even put the goldfish in a small bowl, which you could get at a craft store or at the pet store for less than a few dollars. That would make a great party favor that the 10 year old kids would definitely enjoy!

I really do not believe it is not that important to even provide party favors. Lottery tickets? what if the lottery ticket is not a winner? will the child be disappointed? I would think so. We just celebrated our daughter's 9th birthday, we took 9 girls rollerskating and then had a sleepover...It was simple, fun, and all the girls had a blast! I'd say keep it simple - If you really truly feel like you have to do something, then buy McDonalds gift certificates or coupon for a free icecream cone at your local Ice cream parlor. Hope this helps your friend. Good Luck!

Not a good idea. Some parents might be insulted.. If she's really interested in saving some money, how about buying 2-3 gifts for $10 a piece and giving the kids some tickets so you can raffle them off? If I was 10 I'd think that was pretty darn cool. :-)

Yeah, teach 10 year old kids the thrill of gambling. I think the tickets say something about being for people 18 years old.
How difficult is it to buy a party favor? You can get a boxes of cheap junk over the internet http://www.orientaltrading.com/

Your friend has poor judgment-- does she let her daughter dress like Britney Spears, too?

I use to do that then money got tight so i stop the kids did not mind and did not notice, if the kids were older say 13 and up then a lottery ticket might be a kick so a say do not give them but if she can affort it then do it anyway it is for the kids not here.

First of all, you have to be 18 to gamble so its illegal for a 10 year to gamble. In my opinion that is a terrible idea.

If you are going to throw a party for a 10 year old, then goody bags comes with the terrtory. Unless she doen't want to give one at all.

a good ybag can run you as low as $2-3 each. So what she would rather spend only a dollar and give the kids one scratch off, aah I don't know about that. Just go with the goody bag - a powerball, a piece of candy, some slimy thing and that's that!

i might verify your area for occasion centre. I labored at 2 places which presented teenagers events and oldsters and teenagers enjoyed them. The programs ranged in costs and what they blanketed yet have been particularly existence like. i think they ranged from $10 and up consistent with newborn with min 10 newborn shrink. mothers and dads I spoke to enjoyed this because of the fact all they had to do replace into take place with the Birthday newborn and that they have got been given a set member that helped watch and serve teenagers, have been given foodstuff, cake replace into non-compulsory, did not might desire to hassle approximately decorations or cleansing up, teenagers had time to play interior the differnent areas (one I labored at had mini putting, an excellent indoor playground, arcade and batting cages!) or maybe invites have been blanketed! The events have been many times approximately 2-3 hours and way much less stressful then having them at homestead! If it is not an selection then perchance inspect doing something exterior... if warmer climate a park, or if chilly, circulate skating! wish this facilitates!
