While I was pregnant my dad had to have kemo 24 hours a day for 9 weeks. What kemo is is a radiation liquid that Is put in through an IV line. Since it goes directly into the person and not anywhere else it is perfectly safe to be around a person who is getting kemo. Just if they have the IV at the time I would stay away from any of the IV equipment.

I was five months pregnant with my first when I got married and my aunt and her boyfriend who was getting radiation for prostate cancer did not attend. My OB/GYN didn't mention anything either way about being around cancer patients getting treatment (but then again, I didn't ask). It was the boyfriend's oncologist who said it was not a good idea to be around pregnant women or children. I'm not sure what the reasoning was behind it, but it's mentioned on www.cancer.org. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, is safe to be around, but it's better to ask your doctor just to make sure.

YES!
Chemotherapy just means that they are taking a lot of "Chemicals" to fight the cancer. Radiation treatment is safe as well because it does not make them radioactive. The only thing you need to avoid is if they have had a radioactive source implated in their body. Then you would want to stay at least a foot away.

It will not hurt you or the baby to be near someone receiving chemotherapy unless you were standing right next to her while she was receiving radiation treatments. But being around this person in general is not harmful.

Does a chemo patient carry radiation after their treatment that could infect your baby, no. It's not unsafe to be around someone recieving treatment, just don't be there when they are having it done. They dont' let you in there when it's getting done anyway... so i wouldn't worry.

You shouldd be fine. Chemo only deposits chemicals into that persons body and there isnt anyway or anything to affect someone else who isnt actually having the chemo

Do you mean while they are actually getting the treatment? I don't know about that one. But I am around my hubby's grandma all the time and she gets chemo every day.
