Went to the dr. he said he does not know why it is my right leg since it is left nerve impinged. Released me to work only restriction on lifting. I am wondering if I have other options he is setting me up with a surgeon.
I had no restrictions (still had problem) a couple of weeks ago when I applied for a better job (it requires lifting) Now I am concerned I should not take it as I am in the midst of a comp injury. P.S I currently work for a temp agency

If your doctor is recommending surgery, I would think that is your best bet. However, if you really do not want surgery, ask your doctor if there are other options, maybe a specialist you could see. If that does not work, you should look into your state's work comp laws and see what you need to do to get an independent medical exam.

Also, I'm not sure if you are saying that you still have the restrictions or not, but even if you do get a new job, the lifting restrictions would still apply until the doctor releases you to lift.

I have had several claimants that have started new jobs in the middle of their work comp claims, if the injury was minor, it didn't really cause problems. As you might be having surgery soon (and consequently missing work after the surgery), it may not be the best time to start a new job.

Good luck and I hope you heal well (and quickly!)

if the surgery has a more better result do it! i am now 15 years old and when i was 12 i faced with decision of having a life threatening spinal fusion. and well i didn't know bout you but when your 12 and have to decide that its tough. my parents said i didn't have to if i didnt want it.. but i did anyways cuz i knew it was better. I'm now 15 and i have a job . a boyfriend.. i work on 3 different farms and ride horses and lift everyday .. it saved my life. so sometimes surgery is the better option.. plus. i g it to miss 5 months of school lol
