Be very careful what you ask for. Getting a new fan for your laptop is easy, getting the old fan out and the new fan in is not the same as doing it for a desktop.

Just the fact that you are asking the question means that you might be better served by taking it to a repair shop.

If you have opened the laptop and you think you can do the job, I would recommend ZipZoomFly because a lot of their stuff has free shipping. For more expensive stuff I use NewEgg.

Can you post the laptop name & model number? You can get fans from the manufacturer of the product, often for years after they've stopped selling the product. If you can do so, it's their responsibility to recommend the right part, so you don't have to spend time doublechecking. You can always buy one online yourself (i.e. www.newegg.com www.geeks.com)

This will help with checking on & replacing a laptop fan: http://www.fonerbooks.com/lap_fan.htm

You can get them from the manufacturer or some other computer parts places that sell to retailer's. It would depend on the brand of computer of where you get parts. Having a part number off the old one or from service manuals would help.
