Hey Kalynn,

Architecture is as old as the druids, stone henge, King Solomon's temples. The Greeks are credited with the simple beginnings of columns, the Romans added ornamentation. About.com has a timeline with different periods explained, the first site below. Remember there are different people at different ages of humanity, take Japan Architecture for example, it is different, and matured with different features. Anyway, here are some great places to get more information.

While the web sites cited above are indeed excellent you might suffer from information overload if you check them for a paper the size you have to write. I would go to some good multivolume encyclopedias - Americana, Britannica etc., or software encyclopedias like Encarta, or web based encyclopedias like Wikepedia. Most will have articles of roughly the length of your project so take ideas from them. Use a number of articles so that you do not inadvertently commit plagiarism. You might usefully enter "architecture" into google and check some of the sites listed for an overview of the subject. Good luck.

Architecture is way to broad of a subject to cover in Y! Answers. You could start with the ancient Greek and Romans building great cities and introducing the arch design (which is where ARCHitecture gets its name from).

per chance the question you should ask is why did I persist with for a serious that i'm so unknowledgeable about that i favor to invite for information from YA? i imagine you should reassess previously you get laughed out of the interview. Im no longer attempting to be mean yet you should already have an severe activity for structure previously you persist with to cambridge.

There is so much! Try narrowing your field of History. Read about Frank Lloyd Wright if you want something more current. He is a wonderful architect. My son is studying archetcture and I am taking him to Chicago this summer so he can actually see in person Wright's work.

it's so broad, you have to actually try.

go to a university and go to the school library, or if there's an architecture department, they'll have their own library.
