Whatever u do, try not to pretend u're really sorry, if u're not. Just try to get her to feel better, tell her it was his choice and he knew the risks, and that he's probably in a better place now, instead of being in the hell of Iraq.
Again, whatever you do or say, keep it real and authentic, as far away from "fake" as possible.

Well just tell her you are are sorry for her loss, and words really can't explain the sadness you feel for her and her family. Just let her know you are there for her in any way she will need someone.

For starters you need to be there for her.Simply tell her that you are sorry for her loss.Let her know that you are there for her and if she need's anything from you trust me she will let you know.The most important thing that you can do is be there to support her emotionally.
