does Hot water freeze faster than clod water? and if it does why? and if it doesn't what would lead someone to believe this?

Ive read that hot water does freeze faster than cold - the reason is due to the speed of the individual molecules of water - it is easier to get them to freeze when they are active, than when they are simply chilled... It is called the Mpemba effect, named after its discoverer - an African guy who was making ice cream in 1969...

I don't know if it freezes faster, but i do know that if you put hot water in your ice cube trays, the ice cubes that are made won't bust up and come out of the tray real clean, unlike when you put cold water in them.
