I need to tow this truck with an 1800lb car trailer and I need to know if the combined weight will be more than my 1996 Chevy Tahoe 4WD can handle. I'm guessing about 5,000 lbs, but I wanna be sure. Someone told me to check the side panel, but that only gives me GVWR, the weight that the truck can handle. Please help. Thanks!

Tow dollies don't have brakes.
Car trailers do. (Or should)
If you're driving on flat ground, you should'nt have a problem.
However, if you're going down hills, and need to brake often, Shift down to L2, or even L1 and use your engine to help maintain your speed. Go slow. Even if you have to make others wait beehind you for a bit.

How many trailer axels and how wide the trailer? The c1500 is about 3k+.No easy task to haul! A trailer with electric brakes is the minumim neccassary to safely control this load.Wide trailers can and do require permits to traverse most roads. If it runs and idles I suggest using a car dolly to transport. Beware of Speed, road condition and awareness of responseabillity(attitude) when hauling this load for any one of the above will reachout and bite you when you least expect it.
