#1 - There have probably been many, but they don't get the exposure due to the popularity of pop and hip hop.
#2 - No one gets recognized until their dead, so give'em 50 or 60 years. LOL
Seriously, there are lots of musical geniuses out there (speaking of classical). You just have to expose yourself to and study the genre to find them, as it's not as mainstream as it once was.

I assume you mean musical and I agree. I play myself, but I lack the talent to compose. Well I can compose, but not to Beethoven's level. Mozart was a genius too, but not my favorite composer of all time. Jerry Lee Lewis had and has an amazing talent on the piano. But classical music isn't what a lot of musicians play today-what a pity!

lol there are. Of course, not entirely to the degree of Mozart or Beethoven, but you have to remember that they devoted their entire lives to music. That was how they made their living, and when you spend your lifetime composing, you tend to get better at it. Their musical period has passed entirely, and the musical greats that we have had since are not as highly recognized, but Mozart also wasn't as universally recognized in his day. Maybe someday in the future people will look back on our really horrible atonal pieces and think they're artistic and fabulous, I don't know lol :)

Genius is rare, but there have been a lot of great composers since Beethoven. Chopin, Shostakovich, Mahler, Debussy, Gershwin, Bernstein, John Williams...etc.

Elvis and John Lennon were NOT musical geniuses.
One word: RUSH. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart are three of the world's most talented musicians. And they're Canadian!

Who says there aren't?
Genius and notoriety don't necessarily go hand in hand. There
could be a band teacher somewhere who carries the stuff of
musical greatness. Meanwhile, there's a Top 10 video guy who
really should be teaching band class instead.

As IZ stated 2pac is fairly remembered and hes been lifeless for fairly a mutually as however the main significant reason is that those artists you chosen are oftentimes reported interior the media and are taught to scholars in track instructions and are refferedd to in many books taught in literature

Theree have been. Lots of them.
The problem is that now there are so many of them now that many times their genius is not fully appreciated until after they die.
Like Elvis, Hendrix, John Lennon to name a few.
Just remember most famous artists and composers were not that famous while they were alive.
