America won't build a secular Iraq. Iraq will build a secular Iraq.

I agree that a Shia victory is a victory for Iran.

A Sunni victory is a victory for a secular Iraq and has nothing to do with the Saudis. Sunni Iraqis don't associate themselves with the house of Saud.

And, you're right. the Kurds are just happy to be left alone.

A secular Iraq is a win-win situation for Sunnis and Shia. Iran is the instigator of most of the violence here.

Ayatollah Khomeni has been dead for some time now and Iran is not the evil empire that they would have you believe. Plain and simple 'you' or they are fighting for glory and a footnote in the history books.

I don't know if we can. If it is possible it would have to be made up of moderate people from each group. Mark you reference Carters take on the matter but it was under him that Americans were taken hostage by Iran so what does his record say. As soon as carter left office and Ray Gun took over they released the hostages so it shows that they do respect people who stand up to them.

We can't, and we shouldn't try. The United States should not be in the business of nation-building.
