My mother-in-law will be 100 on Jan. 25. I gave her "50 States" for Christmas. She loved it. She enjoyed geography in her little country school near Aberdeen, So. Dak. Could Lynne send her a card or email for her birthday?

I'd say your best bet would be to contact the Vice-President's staff at the White House:

Vice President Richard Cheney: vice_president@whitehouse.gov

Given your circumstances, I think they'd be a very good chance they'd bring it to Mrs. Cheney's attention.
Hey, it's worth a try.

Its a bit late but you can always try. I don't know about contacting Lynne Cheney but you can reach Dick Cheney at vice_president@whitehouse.gov. Well you can send an e-mail that will eventually be read by somebody in Dick Cheney's employ. You can also send a letter to

However, the White House website warns that mail to the White House usually takes a long time so that they can check it for anthrax and I don't know what else. Good luck, and happy birthday to your mother-in-law.

If I were you I would email her publisher Simon & Shuster..
Their web-site is www.simonsays.com there should be link to their email address.. you may find this easier than going through the White House.
Good Luck
