It sounds like your having a problem with your cooling system. Does your laptop have a fan?(most don't) If not, what my dad does, and it works, is to prop your laptop up a bit so the bottom is exposed to open air. easiest way is to just tuck something small under 2 edges so the air can flow underneath it. if you can't do that, there are external laptop fans you can buy. Mine had similar hiccups because it kept overheating. Good luck!

I have experienced this issue before and after replacing the battery it still did it again. It ended up being the power management module on the system board. It would shut down suddenly when there was still a 75% charge left on the battery.

I had this problem and it was a bad memory chip. Basically, there was a bad 'sector', the computer would run fine until that 'sector' was used, and then it would shutdown/reboot without any warning.
If you have two or more chips, take one of them out at a time and see if the same problem occurs. If it does not occur with one of the chips, then you know that chip is the one with the problem. If you only have one, you might need to buy or borrow one to do the test.

Battery issues are normally the problem. I've been there and dealt with that. I recommend calling the Geek Squad from BestBuy or talking to whomever you purchased your laptop through to see if there is an extended life battery.

warmth. sparkling the fan intake and output those days? if so, only blowing compressed air into the ports gained't do an efficient job for the reason that dirt buildup can clog the heatsink fins interior there and an entire disassembly of the pc for a sturdy deep cleansing might want to properly be mandatory.

Check and see what your time is on your "Power Save" mode. I used to get the same problem, so I just turned that off. Sometimes it's a few minutes or a few hours.

Is the fan working, or perhaps it is very old and it can't handle all the activity it is processing?
