i need a costume which is easy to carry and perfectly round. i got one made but it was sort of oblong.

Get one of those exercise balls, the huge ones that you can sit on. Cover it with paper mache but be sure to leave a little hole. When it dries pop the ball and peel it out of the inside of the paper mache ball. You can use something sharp to cut the head hole etc, or you could just incorporate them in as you're making it. You would have to add the handle and spout after. Hope this helps. To make paper mache just mix flour and water into a paste. Dip strips of newspaper into it and cover the whole ball, let it dry. You will want to do several layers to make it strong.

Have you ever seen those paper Chinese lanterns that are very lightweight and perfectly round? They are made with a "skeleton" of light balsa wood strips that are connected at either end with a gromet. You could make something like that so you can fold it flat when it is not being worn. You could use a real lightweight fabric held together with velcro so you can slip it over the framework. I can totally picture this, too bad I'm not there to help you...

in our beauty and the beast play, the teapot costume had round floaties inside the fabric. the girl wore it on her waist and below and held her arms the way a teapot should. it was a more tall teapot than in the movie.

Two words for you: Hula Hoop.
It would be a nice frame for the teapot. Now how you'd put the material around it to make it stay, I've not the slightest. That's just the first thing that came to my mind. Good luck!! :-)

Have you tried a hoop petticoat under it? I might make it rounder, or even sew in a hoola hoop if all else fails. My daugher just did the Beauty & Beast but they rented the costumes and it was a fortune. Good luck

I don't know how much you want to spend on this, but if you buy one of those giant exercise balls, you could use it as a base for paper-mache and then let the air out. If you want it to be easier to transport, you could cut it in half and attach clasps. Hope this helps.

I can relate to the Beast (my favorite storybook character). He is large and not good looking, but in his soul he is the one who is truly beautiful. He is the one who understands love in a way that the Beauty is only beginning to realize.
