The age-old UNC/Duke rivalry...feel free to comment. My two cents is that while Coach K may be more effective at taking care of DUKE's success, Smith and Williams have been better at looking after the personal success of their PLAYERS.

All three coaches have a great sense of the game, scouting, love for their players and strategies. Smith and Williams got/get pretty much whom they want to play because of the respect and programs both had/have been able to bring to Carolina. Basketball at Carolina has always been a main staple and playing here, your guaranteed a spot on national TV. That and it being a great school attracts great athletes. Coach K has a great program and is definitely made Duke and his name a big part in NCAA every year. But, I don't think players see Duke or Coach K as a big door to the NBA.

Everybody answers are based on either if there an Duke fan or a North Carolina fan. Yes I must agree with you The Tarheels coach Roy Williams is good and UNC is a great team, but overrall Coach K has much more experienced then Roy Williams. Coach K has led Duke to 3 National Champions, 10 Final Fours, and 11 ACC Championships. His win/loss record is 833 wins to only 274 losses. He's been in College basketball for over 28 years and knows the game of basketball very well. He already reserved a spot as a Hall Of Famer when he retires. Roy Williams who is also a great coach haven't been in the game as much as Coach K has, be eventually he will be in the same catergory. Overrall I say Coach K is better.... Hope I helped.

Can't agree with you there, although I do like Roy Williams, but I cannot stand UNC. I am an NC State fan myself, but do pull for Duke second. There ain't nothing like the ACC!! I think all three coaches are very good coaches. UNC has too many kids leaving college for the pros too early. I predict that if UNC wins the National title this year, all those fab freshmen and Hansbrough will be headed for the NBA!! Again, no matter what, I still pull for my beloved Wolfpack!!

I disagree. Because both program have put great players in the NBA and both have great success in graduating their players (based on a study done 1993-2001, here is the link http://www.duke.edu/~stuart/gradrates.html). So you can't say one is better than the other b/c both have outstanding players and students come out their program.
