there are many things for retireesto consider, including family, landscape, climate, cost of living, transportation, crime and health care.

The best place to retire is whereyou are right now. You have friends, you know the area and you can travel if you so choose. Moving to a new place is a real pain unless you know what you are getting into all year long. Seasonal changes make a lot of places uninhabitable.

I would suggest Beaufort South Carolina or near Savannah Georgia. Both are near the beach and the climate is warmer. There are less snowbirds in this area than Myrtle Beach or Florida. I lived for a very short time in Beaufort and it is very beautiful, historical and laid back....It isn't all hustle and bustle but it has everything. There is quite a bit of military in the area though.....Don't know if that would be a plus/minus for you.....

here in the philippines because of its tropical climate, low cost of living, english language profiency, exotic places, beatiful and happy person. actually the government put an agency that encourage retirees to settle down in the philippines.

Probably the desert would be the best- Arizona. The arid environment is easy on your bones
